Hi all,
My 98 XJ8 is exhitbiting the stalling out that service action number S514 addresses but has expired. Does anyone know a way, or the sort of words to use when contacting Jaguar USA to try and get it fixed on them. The dealer sold the car to the previous owner and serviced and repaired it but omitted to replace the throttle body as per the service action. Ay ideas as to how to go about getting them to fess up to not doing it even though the service action has officially expired.
Thanks all!
Michigan.

Tell them just that and see what they say. The problem will be that It is not like this was available for a short period of time but it did expire Dec 2009. This is a link on that service action http://www.xclusively-jaguar.co.uk/xj04_fandi.html#5

The Service Action clearly states that the dealers should contact the owners and preform the appropriate action. See: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=25334
Ten years of so is probably long enough to let such a Service action run from a legal standpoint but perhaps not from a customer relations perspective.
Doesn't hurt to give it a try. Let us know the results.

if you have records that shows the car at a dealer and DDW wasnt pulled to check open recalls then you have a leg to stand on. Cause our jobs as dealers is to verify that any open recall campaigns are performed when the car comes in(not Tech Bulletins, theres a big differance). We did a recall on a 96-97 last year for the eprom, and EGR replacement and that is real old. Jaguar had to track down parts and or get a vendor to supply but it did get done
