Shock replacement options

Hello everyone!
I have the chance to buy new rear shocks for my 98 XJ8 at half price. The only issue is that they are sport (green) bilstien shocks. I'm worried that they won't work very well with the comfort suspension.
I will be replacing the front shocks at the same time but I won't get the same deal. Should I go for it and put Sport shocks all the way around? Or should I mix comfort (black) bilstiens and sport (green) shocks. What's your opinions?

You should definitely do the fronts and rears, or not at all. I had the combination of comfort springs and sports shocks on my last XJ8. The ride is quite a bit stiffer and sportier, but not absurdly so.
It depends on how you like the ride now. If you think it's just right, stick with comfort shocks. If you would like it to be less floaty and more sporty, go for the green ones.

Hi, i apologise i know this thread is about two months old but can the original poster comment on their choice, whether they went green all way around or mixed them up or went with black all way around?
also can someone please post the bilstein part number for the black comfort shocks front and rear? i can find the green's easy enough of summitracing.com, between $100 and $123 each which is not bad.

For the price though, I actually went with KYB, and am very happy with the results... It did take a little getting use to as they are stiffer than the OE comfort shocks (that had well over 100k mi on them). The fronts were really easy to replace, the rear required a lot more work... Personally I would go with the KYB Gas-A-Just. They add that slightly needed stiffness to the car, it rides beautifully, corners like a champ, and I imagine that that is how the car would have rode when brand new.
