Default Signs of Bad Lower Rear Ball Joints

My Jag store notified me that I should replace my lower rear ball-joints. What are some tell-tail signs that they are bad that are noticeable while driving?

No they don't, at least my 98 doesn't. It has bearings, as seen in my thread reagarding my handling issues. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-wiggle-44607/
However, the design may have changed in those three years.

Hi
Your Jag Store have must meant the front end suspension has a bad lower balljoint.

The front suspension has a lower wishbone comprised forged steel front and rear arms bolted together. The rear arm of the lower wishbone has what is called the rear lower balljoint.

In the attached PDF file, the table below the front suspension diagram lists lower balljoint as the Lower Wishbone Ball Joint.

Here are the diagrams of the Front and Rear Suspenison on our XJ models:

There are no ball joints in the Rear Suspension diagram and its table.

The pages in the PDF file were extracted from the JTIS21 Jaguar Shop Repair Manual.

Hi
Here is a forum thread I found on tell-tale signs of bad ball joints:

I also found this article on symptoms of worn ball joints:
