well i have seen one (2000 but...) XKR in person. And i actually got scared. This car looks so absolutely marvelous, evil, bad, dream in person. I think i cannot handle the danger and adrenaline associated with having one. I also have no garage.
so back to reality

both pretty cars, but and a big but here, the ads unsurprisingly are written in german a language i have no understanding of. though somewhat surprisingly the german for beige seems to be beige? if not please correct me as i hope its not anything offensive! the silver xkr seems to be a 4.2 so should be the better long time buy as most known faults i think were more or less delt with by then. there would not be any gateman in the world deny you access to anywhere if you turned up in either of those cars! happy hunting.

;-(
on photos it looks quite ok, but in reality it is like parking a ferrari on the street.

Yes, skipped that one only because I like black better, but as pictured it would certainly tick a lot of the boxes you listed earlier, you're sure you wouldn't want one ;-)
Looking at it from the boring stuff, it is a great driver’s car, young, low mileage, as economical as one could get in style, and low cost in terms of depreciation. But who cares, herewith you not only arrive in style, the journey itself is just as gratifying ;-)

yep, would drive it twice, then i would have to buy new wheels and repair paint and then it will get stolen :-(.
i want one, but i cannot have one.

Then I may have good news, the crime market is focused on the other German brands, much more lucrative. You're sure you can't have one ;-)

Well Girl,.....let me give you a piece of my "wisdom". I was a "city slicker" all my life. Grew up on the asphalt, in some big metropolitan areas like Minneapolis, Munich, Belgrade, Washington D.C., Yokohama (just to name few). And then I "discovered" the country living! Plenty of animals (which I love), plenty of acreage, and a room for ALL vehicles to be garaged. No neighbors, plenty of guns, no vandalism, and even being in CA, I never have to lock my front door when I'm away. I have to think about vandalism when I drive down the mountain to the cities. And the best of all,......Los Angeles 1,5 hours away, SD the same, Vegas 2,5 hours away, and the Pacific Ocean beaches 1,5 hours away. In the States, all these distances are considered "close by". I can go swiming in Palm Springs resorts in the morning (30 minutes away), and hit the ski slopes in the afternoon (30 minutes away) if I want it.
So get yourself a well established German farmer, or rancher, with just enough sophistication (and education) to be able to converse in several languages, one that is comfortable in the biergarten with polka music, as well as in the opera, and get your butt out of the urban rat race!
I know places like that in Bavaria, or further South in Austria. An hour to Bodensee, 1,5 hours to Adriatic, Vienna 2 hours, Salzburg (with one of the finest philharmonic/opera houses in Europe!) next door........and the Alpen all around you!
Go South young girl, go South!

haha you are funny. i live in a village, but it is actually worse, because in city that car would get lost between other expensive cars and not be so on eyes. My jag parks between aged VWs and audis and daimlers. When you walk around it, it is about as invisible as naked girl standing there.
i still dont know where my prince on white XJR, living on farm with 6 garages able to talk in french, english and german, loving cars and wine is hiding though.

Down in Palm Springs, there are PLENTY of Ferraris and Lambos parked on the street, and nobody looks at the Old Cat at all. Just the way I like it.

Sorry, just like champagne.
Don't let the vandalisms get to you, in between there is so much enjoyment, assuming you have vandalisms in your neighborhood without any sense of style...

At this rate you'll end up with a Kia Picanto-or an old Lada ![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Jeremy Clarkson from UK Top Gear drove the X350 XJR all the way up to the top of Scotland & then back down South again in the same journey without complaint, so that's saying something![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
X350 Jag can have air suspension compressor failure & aluminium corrosion issues-although the 4.2L engine is bullet-proof & doesn't have the problems of the earlier 4.0L engines, so it's unlikely to have any catastrophic failures of the type that affected the earlier X308's.
I just wish it wasn't so 'square', compared to the prettier X308

I think your problem is that these cars are listed by registration date and not year. x308 xjr cars ran until model year 2003 but were phased out around August 2002 when the x350 was released. Most of the cars you have been posting are x350 cars when it came to xjr's. Personally I find the x308 a prettier car.

That list is a mixture of newer x350 cars and x308. Don't let people scare you with older cars, just do your homework on all cars you look at. if the car is older then model year 2001 check the service records for the tensioners being done and it will be just as good as a 2002. Always get service records and see what had been done to any car,
