Oh believe me, this party hasn't finished just yet-we're all getting nicely warmed up now for the big event-especially if Sandy ends up with something that needs 12 spark plugs replacing & a bucket of filler

Can you imagine how hard one's tools may have to work

Gebrauchtwagen: Jaguar, XJ6, 4,2 Coupe, Benzin,
This one seems to have a bucket of filler already. And you'd need appropriate tools to install another 6 cylinders.

Well, the colour scheme is certainly 'distinctive' & I believe the body styling is known in the fashion industry as the 'distressed' look

Maybe because you actually have a life? Unlike us, the forum losers, that are hanging on the forum waiting what else will come out of Sandy's mouth.

I'd love an XKR but I need the back doors occasionally so I like my XJR.
As to within 200km of Stuttgart, I drove to near Naples to get mine, for me it was worth it. And with all us Europeans being such good friends these days it was almost painless to get it registered in D.
XJR is more reasonable choice but somehow the coupe is growing on me. keep in mind that XJ12 from about 77 was my original dream car and x308 was what i found closest compromise to it between "modern" jags and within my original price range.
I expect that if there comes somebody into my life and makes me a baby or two he will have appropriate jag to drive us around! I am also still too young to want more then one companion for evening (besides to parties i never drive) so two seater with nice polstered holders for my purse and backup shoes is perfect!
Well in reality it still have one seat too much then i need

You have impeccable taste. I was only half joking with the red and black one.
If I wasn't such a lazy bugger I would like to restore that.
There's a nice manual V12 in red for about 15K a while back.
6 cylinders around 10K can be had. But cars that old can eat your wallet and come back for the shirt on your back.

Show me a girl that does

We can do this mathematically...

V8+ equals V12
V12 Jaguar coupe which is not an old 1970's rust bucket equals late model year XJS
Sporting XJS equals XJR-S 6.0L V12

Problem solved

i meant it as "at least" V8 :-). Would consider 6 Zylinder only if it would have sound as old BMWs (6&7)

A V12 is 'at least' a V8-when did I ever suggest you get a 6-pot engine

BMW straight sixes are usually high-revving howlers & I've had loads of them, especially the small-block 2.5 sixes. Jag 6-cylinder is not really that type of engine.

V12 is masterful-a combination of the inherent perfect balance of a straight-6, but doubled up with all those overlapping power strokes to make the power delivery as smooth as whipped cream-but still with the double-edged background sound overlay you get from 'V' engines, mixed in with the musical sound of odd harmonics that characterise 6-cylinder engines

V8's characterise 'bad boy/girl' attitude, because they have an angry double-edged bellow. They are the 'pub brawlers' of engines-hobnail boots & a worn leather jacket. V8's are the 'bad boy' car engines to shut down Golfs & Diesel Daimlers.

V12's are engines for Kings & Queens-they show you have refinement & manners, as well as the power to shut down all-comers & pretenders. They do not lower themselves to brawling in the street with oiks

Go to an airshow & listen to a Spitfire or P51D Mustang diving at full throttle to hear what a V12 engine really sounds like-power, but also with manners & refinement. If your soul isn't moved by this sound, then you have no soul

With 27 litres, 4 valves per cylinder, no head gaskets to blow, a supercharger, plus upwards of 1500bhp, it would be hard not to be moved by this engine in full cry

XJR-S 6.0L V12-you know 'Uncle Red' is right about this
