Hi guys I got another high mileage xj8 it's silver color I want to replace the classic 16 inch wheels with impeller or asteroid wheels but mostly I will get the impeller because it's cheaper by far 200$ used set . Now I would like to paint the wheels with gray metallic but I'm just not sure if it will look great or it will kill the classic look of the car . What you think?

 

I am not against changing the look. will probably look sharp on a silver car.

We changed the 20" wheels on my wife's RR from the OEM black chrome (gaudy) to a dark grey powder coat about a year ago. Transformed the look of the truck, yet still kept the OEM rims. was a great compromise

I think the dark metallic silver wheels will look fantastic on your car. While I have a huge soft spot for the asteroids myself the impeller wheels are also an excellent look. I say go for it!

 

Here's asteroid wheels after paint it's but darker than the photoshop image . I always liked the look of porsche 911 there's lot with silver paint and gray wheel not bad on jag .

 

I think those look spectacular and will look superb on the car. The color is almost identical to the color on my wife's RR wheels
