But, it is the wild west: it's Oregon where some gun crazy mother lets her idiot son loose on the local campus with her guns.

Find this You Tube: Gun Control for Dummies - It's Common Sense - YouTube

Explains what the second amendment was really about.

I was twice the victim of an attempted armed robbery. Both times the perpetrator showed me his pistol, secured in his waistband. Both times while pretending to reach for my wallet, I showed him my weapon, but mine was in my hand, safety clicked off, & pointed at center of body mass. One is still living courtesy of Washington State, the other died in prison, stabbed by a fellow inmate. I was shot twice in Vietnam, & that was a painful way to mess up your day Don't intend to let it happen again.

I actually had a court date a few years ago due to an unscrupulous person thinking my car was their personal picnic table @ a street carnival. I explained to the judge that I calmly asked the guy to remove his items off my car, only for him to ignore me & proceed to dine there. Safe to say he ended up wearing his lunch that day lol. The presiding judge said he was also a "car guy" so he related, case dismissed.

Americans, sacrificing their children so they can continue to kid themselves that being armed makes them "safer", even their president feels he is banging his head on a brick wall on this one.

Guess that's the end of me on this forum

OK, boys...enough about firearms.

Got the old gal back last night. Yeah, took a while...luckily had a new XF to drive around. Life is tough, right?

Repair:

Pretty good match. Of course, this is with my iPhone camera...so...

And, a beauty shot:

buffed out and such. Need to get to car wash and get all done...but also needs a coat of wax before the winter. I'm chuffed that it turned out ok!

I was actually sitting in my car in a parking lot waiting for my wife when a "lady" pulled up next to my car, not the Jag, and forcefully swung her door wide and hit my passenger side with a very loud bang. I jumped out and "remonstrated" with her and she denied what I had seen and heard her do!!!! I lost my cool, as there was a sizeable dent in my passenger door, so I kicked her door very hard leaving a nice big dent.

She then said she would call the police. I said what for? She said for the damage I did. I said what damage? I did not do anything the dent in your car was already there.

She fumed off and I drove into another parking spot.

This happened a long time ago and I probably would not have the nerve to act like this now, or maybe I would if it was my Jag.

Wow, that brings back a memory.

Like you jackra_1, I was a younger man...in college. I was coming out of a convenience store towards my car when I saw a man open his door hard into my car door and use it to prop on has he raised himself out of his car. He closed his door and walked towards me to go into the store.

I addressed him fairly aggressively and informed him that he had just dented my car. He looked dumbfounded, so I went to my car and braced myself against my door and with all my strength kicked a nice dent in his driver door. I said "have a good night". He stared for a moment and then just walked into the store.

I repeat, I was younger and not yet saved. haha.

I haven't thought of that it YEARS.

Harvest14. Retribution can be very satisfying!

If my wife was present she would divorce me I think.

When I go to the local Home Depot there is part of the parking lot where employees park and several of them have pretty decent cars. I park near those cars with several spaces either side of me. Its further to walk but thats fine.

I do have two dash cams one facing rear and one facing front but as of now they turn off when I turn the ignition off. I want to be able to have them on when parked for a short while, 2 hours or so tops, in a public parking place.

Have not gotten around to rewiring for that yet.

When I think back now, it's hard to believe some of the things I did (regarding cars and driving) when I was younger that didn't have severely negative consequences. Fortunately, I've mellowed out some now. Youth can be dangerous ! ;^)

What's really dangerous is the judge who lacks a sense of humor . . . and gives five days for lack of control . . . or the clown with a gun and lots pent up rage. You can always get the car fixed . . . .

I agree, there are a lot of things I wouldn't do today (or shouldn't), and glad I wasn't caught doing them yesterday.

Feel your pain, a real bummer, but glad all is now well

I recently whilst visiting my aunt and out for lunch, had to leave for a short while ( around 30 mins ) and the car was parked lengthwise between a car and SUV.
Although there was more than sufficient room either end, I took a quick couple of pics of either vehicle carefully showing a portion of my car within the picture. On returning to the car I did a quick walk around......lol

I know you really shouldn't have to, but at least some kind of proof of sorts if the worst happens?
I guess its safe to say its probably for the best that you didn't track them down?

Best
Jim

Default And...changed my grille

Treated the old gal to a new (well, for her anyway...) grille off of a VDP:

Polished up the chrome, put a neoprene gasket under the leaper to seal it better to the bonnet, and gave the car a (painfully physically intense) coat of hard carnuba wax. Lot more work than some of the liquid and other formulations out there...but shines up nicely. I think the VDP grille adds to the distinct 'face' of the car, no?

I'm pleased, overall, with how the work turned out. Dave, the body wizard also took off the outside mirror covers, sanded them down to bare plastic, and primed and repainted while he was at it. Lots of stone chips etc on them, so, he thought it was time to refinish them.

Great looking (but who am I to say ).
Sweet to see the car getting out of this better then before.
To finish it off, find a chrome splitter, think that adds as much as the fluted grille.
