Default Speakers

Trying to remove the speaker cover on the speaker on the drivers door. Turn and pull??? Pry it off with a screwdriver??? I also need to know what size speaker can I replace this speaker with. Is there a brand name speaker that will fit perfectly into this spot.Thanks.

Hi Chris,

The door panel needs to come off in order to remove the speakers- once it is off it becomes self-explanatory. Not sure what speakers you can swap.

Hi and Welcome to the Jaguar Forum.
Look at post# 2 (by forum member Sean B) for instructions and other information on the front door speaker replacement.

The next 4 weblinks are to PDF files extracted from JTIS shop manual software that have step by step instructions and illustrations on removing front door panel and its tweeter speaker.

You might not be able to view the pdf files because you are a new forum member and need 10 or postings on the forum.

Therefore you need to use the logout on the black menu bar (all the way to the right). Then you will be considered a guest and be able to view the pdf files.

any 6.5" shallowish mount speakers will fit. You can also use spacer rings for 5.25".

I just replaced the speakers in my XJ8 with Polk Audio Model DXi6500 components. The set comes with separate 6.5" woofers, 2" tweeters and a crossover. The woofers are a direct replacement, and the tweeters fit right in the factory space by the doorhandle, although it's a bit tight. I used the Polk crossover fed from the factory woofer wire, then up to the new tweeter and down to the woofer. I tie-wrapped the crossover in the space behind the woofer to the insulation. (I know it sounds a bit ghetto, but it works well). The Polks are on sale at Best Buy in the US for $149/set this week, good quality to price balance. The sound is much better than the OEM speakers.
