Default Special edition XJR?

Hey guys.. Would like to pick the brains of our resident X308 members.. the only special edition I'm aware of is the XJR 100 in '02.

But I came across this '03 for sale with the Birds Eye maple trim and what appears to be factory Jaguar rims that I'm not familiar with.

Was this just a special appearace package, or was Birds Eye maple trim available as an option in '03?

What am I missing? The ad says it is an 02, not an 03. Looks like the special edition.

Those wheels are definitely not factory Jaguar wheels

the wheels are aftermarket, but look pretty good on the car, not a bad choice

as far as the veneers go I believe you could spec any veneer you wanted if you special ordered the car. furthermore you could buy a whole veneer set later on but it would cost big time

thank you

My mistake. It is an '02. And I wasn't aware any veneer could be special ordered- thanks for clearing this up!

And I do like the wheels... Even if they aren't factory

Despite not being a Jaguar released special edition, it does appear to a well looked after example that was given a few nice custom touches like the wheels, and possibly the wood veneer whether through Jaguar or elsewhere. I personally approve!

The wood is factory, I think it was called "Ashed Walnut".
I agree it looks like an excellent car, are you going to buy it?

I'm thinking about it. But I'm having a hard time justifying it, given it would be a 4th car and I also don't have any more garage space. I can barely find time to excersise the ones I have now.

Also I'd have to see if the tensioners have been changed over yet, given how much they're asking for it.
