Angry speed control

Hi Guys, can anyone tell me where I can obtain a diagram or a detailed fact sheet on "where the vacuum pipes on the xj8 cruise (speed )control go, I dismantled some and replaced those but half was done by someone else so now I am stuck half way.
Any light shone on this would be fantastic.

I don't know if the Workshop Manual has a schematic, but the parts diagram at jaguarclassicparts.com may help:

http://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk...trol-equipment

And here's a similar diagram from the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC), which you can download and install from this forum. The only difference I noted is that the diagram at jaguarclassicparts.com includes a "+" vacuum hose connector, Part 20.

Cheers,

Don

These are photos of my 98 XJR, but it should give you an idea. The red dice should be a + connector, I forgot mine was broken and made this temporary bodge, about two years ago.

It was the easiest thing I had to hand to drill through, If you use the 1 and the centre of the 3 the centres are already marked and centre dotted for you.
Just got to glue in 4 short lengths of hard plastic tube.

A big thank you to all the members who contributed to my problem, all connected up, now just have a engine fail safe light, but down to troubleshooting all the common bits now.

So a big THANK YOU !

Had that myself, but only with the cruise control activated.

it was a broken + connector on the vacuum lines, hence the bodge with the red dice.

lol, I think and pray its my switch on the brake pedal, as that is the only thing that is original on my present XJ8, everything else cam off my working old XJ8, so a job for the week-end. all pipes etc. seem fine and clean so here is to luck!
And thanks again to all who contributed to my post

Default Cruise not Working

I want to add something, I found my Vacuum leak to the RF of the Engine Compartment .Follow the Vac from the Motor all the way from the Intake to the storage tanks to the RF then back to the Solenoids. I had all the Vacuum I thought was needed at those things but not enough to hold as Cruise above 20 mph? I started following the hoses and found 1 disconnected. A very small one yet enough to have cause me to buy the Brake Switch and agitate me for months.
