Spreadsheet for Timing Upgrade Parts & Cost per Blackonyx DIY (under $600)
New to the forum and very appreciative to everyone for being so supportive and providing such helpful information.
While I am a newbie and a shade tree mechanic at best, I believe this spreadsheet will be useful for anyone utilizing the DIY Timing Upgrades/Maintenance as outlined in blackonyx' tutorial.
I have scoured this forum and the internet to find the most cost effective means to acquire the parts and tools needed. This should hold true for anyone in the USA.
I included the parts (all brand new), descriptions, and the best current price I could find. If shipping was involved, I added the cost to have it delivered to New Jersey. I did not provide the seller's name for ebay listings (don't want to vouch for any particular seller), but I did supply the exact description of the listing.
I have also included another section for upgrading the cooling system (recommended to be done at the same time). I will be performing a system flush for the coolant, thus the large amount of distilled water.
The blue loctite 243 is a personal preference and the large amount is simply to make it cost effective. A much smaller amount may be purchased.
Disclaimer: Prices and availability will vary. These are the tools and parts I personally feel bring the most value (i.e. coolant type). Please substitute or utilize whatever is your preference.
