SRS drivers side module

Local dealer has informed me that my srs light is on because of a bad drivers side module. They claim they can't read any srs codes due its failure. I have a couple of questions to defer to more experienced Jag owners. Is this particular module located under the drivers seat? Is it a "plug-in" type module? Will the light go off if I am able to replace it myself? Quoted $240 part / $200 labor.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

there is a driver door module in the door and a seat module under the seat and none of them have anything to do with SRS. but the drivers seat belt is tide into it..
so you can't read any SRS codes ....meaning no communiction in the module when reading codes? or just there is no codes in the SRS system ?
if you SRS light is on and no codes it's usually the casette reel has failed..

Yep. No communication with the module so they're going to replace the module to see IF there are any codes. I was curious where the drivers side srs module was located. From what I understand there is a drivers, passenger and another module of which I don't recall it's purpose tied to the srs system. I could be very wrong about that info however.
Yes, I did hear about the reel. Which is what worries me. I'll pay for a module, they won't get a code, so it would most likely be a reel. More $. Which is why I was curious to see if I could swap in a new module if I could find out where it is.
Thoughts?...
Thanks.
