Intermittently my 2000 xjr 60000 miles will not crank or even click. Batery is good and everything else works, if I try 2 or 3 times it will usually go ahed and crank. most of the time it cranks and starts as good as any new car. any suggestions? it acts like it is not getting power to the starter, relay problem?

does the dash light up when it is not starting?
If so, next time it does this, sit in car and lock it with remote. Then, unlock by pulling door lock rod. This will simulate someone breaking into car. Then insert key in ignition while alarm is on, turn key on and see if alarm goes off. Then turn key rest of way see if starts. Report back with your findings.
Also, look at the connector on the passeneger side behind the right shock. Has rubber boot on it. Make sure it istight.

there are number of things to look at when car won't start: Fuel pump might be failing; bad ignition or coils; bad starter; battery failure. I would suggests that you go over those car parts and have a thorough check up and see if there is something wrong with it. by the way, when was the last tune-up? it might be that its time to have one.
