Default Starts but wont stay running after new fuel pumps

Ok, I don't know where to go from here to diagnose this issue. I will try to keep it brief...

I was having occasional starting issues. No codes. Decided to replace the fuel filter. That seemed to help for a while.

Friday the car started but was running rough, wouldn't do anything more than idol. After a few restarts it would not start at all. Had it towed home.

I finished replacing both pumps last night. The car starts right away every time, but sputters to a stop after a few seconds. I had a friend crank the while I held the fuel test valve open. Fuel poured out. So I think the pump install was a success. Still no codes.

Any ideas?

Is there a flu going around on our cars? This is like the 6th post like this in a couple weeks... I hope mine doesn't get it...

Seriously though-
1. Battery age?
2. Tensioners?
3. Fuel pressure at the rails is what?
4. Have you disconnected the battery and touched the leads to reset?

That should get things started, diagnosis-wise.

Battery is less than a year old.

Don't know the fuel pressure, guess I need to buy a gauge.

Did a reset. Still the same thing. No codes, but I did see "trac not available" flash a few times.

Hope it's not the tentioners....

Remove the valve covers and check. If not the metal ones, you need to replace asap anyway....

'Trac' flashing is a classic symptom of a weak battery - has the car sat a while?
