Steering Column Reach Cable Replacement

I snapped this picture when reinstalling the steering column in my project and thought it might help some folks. In searching the forum this drive cable seems to be a common failure point, and mine was spaghetti when I purchased the donor car. You can see the new cable entering the gearbox at the lower left, and at the nut where it enters the drive screw for the reach mechanism at the lower right. The motor simply snaps into a plastic mount on the top of the column - my motor was secured to the mount with a zip tie (the white one). There is a tongue and groove on the motor/mount which allows for 2 positions - mine was in the slot that puts the drive closest to the screw. For orientation locate the yellow bracket at left - this bolts to the pedal box at the firewall.
Someone posted here that a common cause of cable breakage is a software glitch in the automatic column setting - the motor continues to drive the column after it's reached the end of it's travel and breaks the cable. If anyone can confirm the procedure if there's a fix I'd appreciate it.
