Stereo upgrade suggestions??
I am looking to install an aftermarket single DIN stereo into my 2003 XJ8. I have purchased an extremely nice, custom faceplate, and now would like recommendations on the best choice for the stereo system. Sirius compatible, hands free, ability to control the 6 CD changer, etc. Most I have seen come with optional harness adapter for the steering wheel controls.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks!

Here's the fascia insert I found a couple years back... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-piece-165345/
As far as a single DIN head unit, I have an Clarion NZ 503 in my work van, for which, when working, is great. It has SiriusXM connector, NAV, IPOD, Terrestrial radio, Pandora, Bluetooth, etc... they run about $600 new, $350 refurb. Thing is, the ribbon tape can go bad (as on my first one) and you may as well toss it vs repair cost. I picked up a refurb to replace it.
In my Jag I have an older version of the same unit, an VZ 401 (seen in the link). Yes its older, but its no where as quirky as the 503. The biggest downfall is the NAV, its a separately purchased unit and not as detailed. But it has an XM connector, which I prefer over SiriusXM. I have 2 lifetime subs and XM has channels I prefer. I put the XM receiver under the center council insert along with pulling the USB lead into the council insert to hook up my iPod discretely. Bringing all the wiring alongside, in between the shift bezel assembly and rear air ducts.
Both units are retractable screens, when bringing out or putting in that screen (on anyone's unit) in the Jag, you must have it in Neutral at minimum for the screen to clear the shifter. I leave mine out 99% of the time, so its not an issue for me.

I can listen to the same station from Key West, FL to Main to Seattle (yeah, done that). Yes you can lose signal in tunnels or certain bridges, but its clear without fade other than that. Give it a try out.

Hey Milowokie, I should had paid more attention to your location...where is Newton located, ..England? If so, SiriusXM is only a North American product for in vehicle reception, but I'm sure you can subscribe via the net. If so, then you can get the app for your phone and listen that way also.
