Default Super V8 wheels

Where can I find the factory Super V8 wheels?
The factory 1998-2000 VDP rims that came with the car are perfect condition and look OK, but I think the 2000-2003 Super V8 really fit the car perfectly. Looks like I might even be able to use the same center caps that I currently have. But have to find the rims.

Keep an eye on ebay and the for sale threads. Scour nearby cities on Craigslist also.

no luck on ebay yet and the above website dont have them. ironically it has just above every other style but the one for the Super V8.

craigslist and nearest city. There really aint a near city to El Paso. Nearest one, 4.5 hours drive phoenix, dont have them. New mexico dont have much anything useful at all outside few beat up vehicles and or vanilla cars. Even Dallas/Houston/San Antonio (nearest texas cities) which most likely would be found on craigslist is 8-12 hour drive away. I'm closer to LA (9.5-10 hour) than Dallas (11-12 hour). But neither site has them yet. I'll keep an eye on ebay but aint seen a set the past year. I've been looking before I even owned a Jaguar as I always do to see what things are available before I buy.

Which wheel are you talking about? The asteroids?

Have you tried the part out ads in the classifieds here? There have been a couple of sets this year.

BTW, if you want the soft ride described in your other thread, you'll want to be on 16" or 17" wheels. Not the 18's.

yes the 16 or 17s and want nothing to do with the 18s and not the asteroid rims. It is the rims that came stock standard on the 2001-2003 Jaguar XJ8 Super V8, not the XJR. think they are 17s though.

Yes yes that page has them. those are the ones. I think it would make my VDP look very much better. To me, and that's what counts. Might pick up a set from this site very soon. But shipping is probably going to cost me a pretty penny about half the price for the four of them. I'm far from PA, and not in a commercial crossroad and or stop for shipping methods. If I had address in Dallas a, major commercial hub and it would save me a bunch to drive that 8 hours and pick them up...if I had vehicle to put them in. Damn, I need a 1999-2000 Escalade for that. More and more I might need to buy one as I see too many uses for it now.

They take trade-ins. It might not have to be the same style.

hm trade-ins. What I see in that is double shipping costs. Pay to ship the rims, pay to recieve the rims. I hope trade in is not mandatory.

Nope.

And did you know that you can put wanted ads in the private classifieds?

Go to bed!

I'm night shift for the month. slept all day. I'm a night owl naturally anyways. Work is 5pm afternoon.

Uhm I can try that but here in El Paso, it's a long shot. Hell even the base line XJ8 is rarer than a 1962 Maserati in Colorado. And only seen one other VDP. and 4 other XJ8s two of them on dealer lot for sale.

So is that a nope to the trade in being mandatory or shipping?

I wasn't suggesting that you must buy from those folks, but just that you might have better search results by including the wheel style name.

The problem with finding these wheels are that they were standard only on a low-volume model--there were just a couple hundred x308 VDP S/C's and Super V8's produced per model year.

Looks like they might be only carriers tha tI now know about though. Nothing came up using style name besides that website that was mentioned.

I thought about upgrading to the Super V8 real soon but now I;m not sure. With the way the roads are here, bent/cracked rims are not uncommon and seems like finding a replacement would be a PITA if it didnt work out with that one website.

So far with the VDP, I havent cracked any rims but went through three tires since Feb already, two of them within a day of each other. So I ended up buying a cheap set of used Michelins and a set of brand new ones that I will mount only when I'm going out of town and or out of this place for good.
