Ok that makes sense atleast i know i didnt wast money on an engine now , so just to be sure all i have to do is take all of the sensors from the 98 engine and switch them over to the 2001 engine ? Then use the 2001 wiring harness? And after doing that i wont need to replace and ecu/ecm/pcm etc..? And have you been sucsessfull in doing the conversion this way?
Thank you in advance , i know its alot of questions

You leave the 'A' bank sensor harness connector UNPLUGGED as well as the oil temp sensor. (1998 does NOT have them)

You will need to use the AJ26 engine harness, You will need to swap 'B'bank INTAKE CAM (and set the clearance), Torque Converter drive plate etc,etc,etc.......................

You need to make the AJ27 engine plug up to the AJ26 Engine Harness and have the AJ26 ECM HAPPY with all the inputs.
You need to read, read, read about other's experiences and mistakes or you will repeat all the problems that have been encountered.

Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. Ive been reading alot about trying to do this engine swap ,but unfortunatly nonthing has been that helpfull other than your responses . This is my first jaguar and engine swap , so if you could be more specific i would really apreaciate it. As in what you mean by set the clearance and what it need s to be set to and all other parts i need to take from the old engine . Thank you
