Default Supercharger lag?

Twice this happened. Cold start, I step on gas but no power at all, car just moving by itself. No check engine light. Push gas again, nothing, push again then boom , it accelerates as it normally does. Bewildered, has this happened to any of you guys?

A cold engine... maybe it needs to have gone CL (closed loop).

It would help considerably if we knew what year and what engine you have. Whatever the problem ultimately is it is in the accelerator function. Superchargers don't lag like turbo chargers.
Post the year and engine and we can look at the symptoms for the accelerator.

Clean your MAF sensor and check if your throttle body is dirty

If it's a late model, it maybe that, due to the "cold start". It may not have met all the parameters set in the computer. Oil pressure, fuel pressure, engine speed, etc, and it has not activated the throttle, until it meets those parameters. Usually this all happens in milliseconds. And no one ever notices. Or you could have a sensor that is responding slowly due to the cold??? Hope it helps.

+1 on Jacobra's comments. By this model year you no longer have a throttle cable it is all electronic signal. Try letting warm up a little. Unfortunately without dealer level software you can't get a reading for what sensing is creating the delay. A good Indie would be capable of diagnosis.

You're supposed to let the high idle die down before hitting the gas, luckily the Engineers in Coventry knew there was a possibility some would try.

The most wear on engines is at 'cold start' - little oil is were it should be.......

OBD can show you when it goes CL (mine is within 30 secs even when cold) so you could maybe look a few times then just not stomp until at least then.

Takes me 30 secs or so to get anywhere I could even contemplate stomping it (and would immediately break the speed limit if I did).
