Default Swap ABS Modules

Hello my learned Jaguar enthusiasts.
My 2000 XJ8 has developed the intermittent and dreaded TRAC, ASC not available. After all the routine steps (wheel sensors, battery, wiring, etc), I'm 95% sure its the ABS module.I own a 2004 XJ8 doner vehicle with a good ABS module.
Here's the question. Can I install a 2004 XJ8 ABS module (4W93-20219-BC) in place of my 2000 XJ8 module (LNK2210AD).
Very respectfully, Bob G in Florida

Very unlikely. Have you tried re-soldering the abs pump connection on the circuit board? That is a very common problem. To replace the module with a used one without use of the factory software.you would have to match all the numbers and letters on the VCATS list near the spare tire.

There's multiple posts on this forum and even a video on youtube showing how to do it although I recommend separating the housing rather than trying to drill a hole like the video shows. Worst part of it is having to disconnect the brake lines to get the darned thing out to work on it and then bleed the brakes after putting it back, which you'd have to do to replace it anyway.

You don't have to remove the brake lines they can be gently moved to the side w/ no negative effects.

I just did this job on my 2000. Gently bent the lines to get access to the screws. No bleeding of brakes.

The swapped ABS module that I used on my 2000 came from an 01 VandenPlas. As said before, I simply moved the lines away from the 4 retaining screws.
