Tail Lights brighter than brake

I had to bypass the SLCM for brake lights a few months ago. I wired them to the 3rd brake light so that all work. NO problems there. A little while later I had to bypass for tail lights, so wired them to the tag lights. Question is, when my lights are on and I press the brakes, the tail light portion of the bulb is brighter than my brake light. IF lights are off, brake lights are fine, just night time you can't tell the change in the bulb, its as if the tail light over shines the brake light, if not for 3rd brake light you couldnt' see a brake light. Anyone else done this and have this issue? Maybe wrong bulbs?

If you kept the original bulbs, then no.
It is likely lack of sufficient amperage, which will eventually blow that circuit too.
The workaround would be to use the third brake light circuit to drive a relay, or change the bulbs to LED's so that you reduce the current draw.
The LED approach is better because it avoids the lag that a relay would introduce. It is tiny, but it is real.

+1 on what Plums suggests, (you'll need to add resistors to the brakes if adding LED's or a rear bulb failure warning every time you brake...)
Or.....
Get another security module, there must be loads of 98 parts kicking around on eBay, and they get parted out on here all the time.
Why not bin the heath robinson cut and tape stuff, and get it working like Jaguar intended.

i do plan on getting a new module. I got one from ebay and matched the numbers and it was also bad so I'm waiting on my refund on that before going further and trying to purchase another module. I had to replace bulbs since one was blown so I went to walmart and got 2 new bulbs. When the headlights are off, the brake lights are fine and you can see them. When you have headlights and tail lights on, its like you can't even tell when you push the brakes unless you are watching them then you see the slight change when the other part of the bulb lights up. If it wasn't for the 3rd brake light you wouldnt even know, but as I say, its only happening when the headlights are turned on. What is the correct tail/brake bulb that I need to get and where as I'm guessing the regular walmart bulb isn't right.
