Tech help please - battery drain
My wife's '99 XJR has been pulling the battery down for as long as I can remember. If the car was used regularly the charging system would keep things running so I never bothered to trace the problem. After 8 years of abuse I had to finally replace the battery, and I'd like to treat the new Interstate AGM a little better.
It was simple enough to isolate each of the fuse blocks and trace the problem to the 15 amp circuit in the left rear toe kick block that supplies the Body Processing Module. With that fuse removed I'm reading about 50 miliamps (which I assume is normal?) and with that fuse in place I'm drawing 250 miliamps (which I assume is the problem).
I'm transplanting an '01 XJR into a Mark 2, so I plugged that module in to eliminate the module itself as the problem - same 250 miliamp draw. Any suggestions where to go from here? Most of what's controlled by the Body Processing Module seems to be low voltage circuits that aren't individually protected - unless I'm missing something. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
