Can anyone tell me what the red warning light is for? This is on an '01 XJR transplant into a Mark 2 - all codes are clear except P1000 which I assume requires more run time and cycles to clear.

I also have the yellow telltale which looks like the SRS. My code reader (Innova 3160d I believe) is supposed to read Ford SRS codes but is showing nothing. All of the air bag functionality was carried over - driver and passenger bags plus seats and belt tensioners). Any thoughts appreciated.

As Bob says the red light is lit because the system has detected the passenger door as being open. That won't go away until the system realises the door is closed.

As far as the air bags go, that is a very sensitive system which operates on sensors all over the car. Have you carried over all of the external air bag sensors that detect a crash? Have you ensured everything is plugged in properly?

Sounds like an interesting project you're doing though.

 

I assumed Bob was being clever - telling me what the readout was telling me - didn't realize the light was related! Thank you both.

Everything was carried over on the airbag system and all connections have been triple checked. The only thing I can think of is that the main actuator forward of the gear selector fell off a table onto the floor at one point in the project - it might make sense to source a replacement and start there.
