Tech help please - wiper motor transplant
The idiot transplanting the X308 into a Mark 2 is back. I had to replace the XJR wiper motor with a Series 3 XJ6 motor to be compatible with the cable drive of the Mark 2 wiper system - no room in the cowl area for the XJR wiper mechanism. As far as I can tell the motors are identical electrically, with wire leads for high speed, low speed, park switch and ground. Everything works as it should using the XJR wiper control, until I turn the wipers off - they continue to run for 10 to 12 cycles before shutting off, stopping randomly at different positions. Any thoughts regarding the cause/fix will be appreciated.
Here's a picture of the 2 wiring diagrams - no idea how to pull one from the XJR electronic manual so had to print and take a picture! The motor is in the lower right - hope it's legible.
