Is there a coolant bleeding procedure after fitting new thermostat housing ?
I just changed my leaking thermostat housing to the aluminium after market one using the very useful thread on the forum. I didi not drain the system other than the loss when removing the thermostat housing. I refilled coolant via the the thermostat housing and is has refilled the expansion tank. I have sqeezied the two main radioator hoses. (I even used hot colland to fill thermostat housing in an attempt to have the thermostat open and I certainly saw bubbles via the thermostat as I squeezed the lower radiator hose). My visual impresion of the system makes me think thak there will be no air pocket in the sytem after this.
Just to Check:
Is there a bleeding procedure I should n ow follow for the cooling system after changing the thermostat housing ?
year 2000 xj8 4 litre
Thanks
Graham
