Thinking of selling my 99 XJR.
Hello all.
I found a cherry of an XJR a few years ago, and treated myself for my 30th birthday. It's a 1999 and had 58k miles. Silver over black, and completely original. I've been in love with these cars since I was a kid, and was totally elated when I found myself in a position to actually aquire one. I have had 0 issues with this car. The headliner needed replacement and I chose to upgrade to a suede which really luxuriates the interior. An A+ exotic car and Jaguar specialist has been through the car and has preformed service on her since I bought it. I'm in it for 3 years now and have 68k miles.
I find myself toying with the idea of trading up into a Maserati Quattroporte and would have to let the Jag go to do so. I'm really torn because of my deep feelings for this car, but realize the reality of pushing a Ferrari V8.
What to do...
I figured to put a thread up here to get some opinions... and maybe even come across an interested party. The XJR is as clean as they come. All the while I'm typing this, I'm racking my brain to come up with any issues I have had with her and all I can think of is that the drivers side seat warmer stopped working recently. I did some research here and found that its a pretty common problem with a fairly simple fix.... just haven't made time to deal with it.
I live in New Jersey, and would love to talk to anyone who might want to know more about the car.
Thanks all...
Brian.

I know that you are thinking....before i got my XJR, I considered the Maz, drove one and was torn between them for a few months. Both cars are great to look at and when in top running order, feel like they fit like a glove when behind the wheel. The Maz is rare, sexy and something to look at when it drive by. in the end, I went with the R as it covers the same as the Maz but with much less out of pocket expense (and aggravation) when trying to keep it running. My father had a Maz when i was a kid, quatroporte. Back in the day, I felt like a kid of a movie star, but my dad's mechanic got the love on a regular basis. the cars are much different today but the maintenance cost and frequency hasn't changed much. if you have the patience, time and money - go for it but expect frequent hurdles. The look of the cars are great and the interior is amazing.....but so is the R.

yeah the expense of Maserati service and repair has to be pretty extreme, and the insurance cost for that matter. you could go for a 2008 or 2009 XJR, an X358 with the best looking bumpers and whatnot and have a car that costs less than a quattroporte, may not be quite as cool, but will never have such painful costs associated with it

hmm.
I didn't consider updating to an x358... It would be the only other model I would ever consider along with the 308.
I just don't know. The performance factor is a major one. I have to do some research to see what the Mas is puting down compared to the R.
Maybe I could keep and play with the R. Any suggestions on how to get some more hp? Pulley? Intake?? without going to far away from stock.. I saw a link just yesterday for a pulley upgrade. I really dont know too much about it, so I would really have to do some homework. Any thoughts?? Suggestions??
Thanks all.
