Went to the dealers site and looked at it again.
The mileage is perfect.
It's in GREAT shape.
I can't tell you how many neglected and abused Jaguars I looked at in the Salem / Portland area in looking for my car.
You could always take it to an independent mechanic for an inspection.
If I hadn't just bought mine, and if the interior was Oatmeal, I'd buy it!

It looks like top dollar for a top car, except, as Mike noted, the carfax shows some serious concerns about the front suspension. Two sets of bushings and a steering rack would be unusual for a car with this few miles. On the other hand, maybe the bushings were incorrectly replaced and the steering rack fixed the problem. I would definitely drive it and make sure it tracks well. And DO NOT fall for any explanation like "It just needs an alignment". If they say that, tell them to align it and then drive it!
That said, XJRs do have some amount of tramlining" and some tire are worse than others.

I agree completely.
The directional Eagle F1's on my XJR were tramlining horribly.
My new tires make the car a different driving experience.

I love it! It's an identical twin to mine, down to the warm charcoal interior and the wheels.
I don't see the timing tensioners mentioned in the CarFax report. Doesn't mean they weren't done, but at 77,000 miles it is a pretty good possibility that they haven't been upgraded. I would try to use that to try to knock the price down a bit.

Hmmm. Looks like the car spent a couple years in po-dunk Longview. I don't recall seeing it, and I keep my eyes open for Jags
. Oh well.
A bit off topic but what is the rhyme/reason/rationale to Carfax having repair history on some cars but not others? How does Carfax get the info? Apparently some repair shops voluntarily participate in a data base ...?
Cheers

I have not driven it yet. The tensioners don't seem like they will be to bad then. Carfax only knows and shows what people report to them, not all body shops and not all service facilities report to Carfax. I'm assuming they changed and so many times because of the repair work done on the front and maybe the car is a basket case and a lot of those hands were auctions and dealers. Usually auctions and dealers do not keep cars for that long. But it could've been the case to wear an auction basically gives the car to a dealer on consignment he has 30 days to sell it if he does not sell it he brings it back and the auction re-auctions it off.
