Default Throttle position sensor

I bought a new Throttle position sensor. Seems cheaper to go this way instead of buying a whole throttle body. Now do I have to recalibrate the TPS when I install it? Thanks in advance.

when you install it, you'll have to move it back and forth until the car idles normally. It'll be very noticeable when you don't, until you get it right. It's only about 1/2" total movement if I remember correctly, but it'll be simple enough.

thanks Charlz. So I don’t need to scan it to check the throttle opening? Just feel it through idling?

Try for a simple meter reading of 0.50 volts DC on the Brown wire and Green wire at the proper idle stop as there are 2 TPS sensors in the package . From the 0.50 reading go + or - direction from there til you can find your sweat spot .

This can be adjusted without running the engine with the key in the on position . Test run to check the setting requires a road test .

See page 55 lower right corner :

The TPS sensor can be swapped out as the thread is outlining. The TPPS sensor on the other side of the throttle body though, that one isn't something that can be, unless there's some new magic I haven't found yet

amazon. Was surprised, but I checked the numbers and it matched. Saved me some dollars. Now just need to install it. This is the TPS.

Update, now the car is throwing a P1222 code which is the pedal position sensor. I’m starting to give up on this car. I’m currently out on the curb waiting for the tow truck, don’t know if I’m heading to my mechanic or throw this car to the dismantles.

If you look at the 2 wires that you read tho 0.50 volts at on the idle stop . Yon't want t see is a bip towards o volts as you slowly move it through their range .You can twist the throttle open an look for a open on the wiper brushes to see if you have a bad part out of stock . What you gon't want to see is 0 volts but a steady climb toward 5.0 reference voltage .
