Hi !
Just changed the P7 for the Michelin Primacy on my XJ8 :
MICHELIN PRIMACY HP 225/60 R16 98 W
V = max speed 240
W= " " 270
I'm above these speeds only when traveling .. by air !
The P7 are very good but were not available immediately so I ordered for the Primacy from Michelin ! they run quieter et are excellent, even on wet road (I'm living in french brittany..)

I do not see a Michelin mxm4 tire to fit my car (225/60r16). I see an mxv4 98h tire. It looks like that is going to be my choice.
correction. The Premier A/S is the only current model Michelin tire I see to fit. Apparently there is a lot of mxv4 inventory still out there however.

Suggest you find a new installer. 26 ounces??!! Did someone hide a brick in one of your tires?
That is an implausible, even with the worst Chinese tires, scenario.
PS I have a nice set of Michelins, 235/60 x 16" that have been languishing in my basement for a year now since my BMW 7er died. I ain't using them and could hook you up with a good installer too.

Today when we put the new tires on, we had no issues what so ever with them. They all balanced easily, and quickly

Please keep us posted regarding your Pirellis. I'll be in the market for new shoes for the wife's car soon.

So far with the new Pirelli P7 All Season Plus, I have driven about 100 miles on them, and here are my thoughts:
1.) They are QUIET! These tyres (tires) have next to 0 road noise, especially compared to the old P6's
2.) Wet traction is SUPURB. I didn't even have them on for 24 hours before having to drive home in the rain (it's 25 miles each way). And not only did I not hydroplane once, but they also held their grip when I had to swerve to avoid hitting someone that very nearly ran head on into a Semi (one car in front of me swerved into the other lane at at least 65 MPH around a blind turn and almost hit a semi truck traveling at probably the same speed). So stopping distance and grip on these in wet conditions is good.
3.) They really make the car handle so much better, good grip, good response (just as good if not better than the V rated P6's I had previously).
4.) Not exactly related to Pirelli P7's directly, but since I have put them on, the car has no more "wobble" like it previously did, the old tires (tyres) must have been out of round.
Will post more info on them the more I drive on them!

and they are holding up very well.
I will check the tread depth as soon as it stops raining. But these tires have saved my life. Doing 75mph on the highway, in the rain, at night, a deer ran across the road, hit the brake. The car began to spin, but I feel if I didn't have tires of this quality, I likely would have lost control.
I very highly recommend these tires! the wet and dry traction is superb. Soon we will see what they are like in snow also. Will keep everyone updated.
