Default Torque Converter

In the process of putting trans back together. I drained the torque converter and changed the filter. My question is should I prime the converter(pour trans fluid in before install) or just wait and add it in the end? Since it's a real PITA to get to the fill hole just thinking this might make it a little easier. Any thoughts?

This is what I have done. Put it back together dry. Fill transmission. Pull the fuse for the fuel pump so the engine won't start. Crank it for about 10 seconds. Crank it about tjtee times. Check fluid level and top it off. This should prime the transmission roughly the same way you would prime an engine the first time.
I don't know if this is the proper proceedure but it seems to works for me.
