thank you , it was a lot of works( I did not do all myself at all, I am just an average Joe)

I went over a couple gold/yellow color options at the powder coating shop. the owner suggests me to go for more flat/satin finish same calipers will get dirty and dust fast.

initially I was thinking about the Subaru STI gold but it looks too "copperish reddish color "in person. then I thought about the bright yellow just like the modern Jaguar OEM carbon calipers but it also looked sporty.

after the powder coating. I had to bring back all of the disassembled parts back to my mechanic(the powder coater wont put the calipers for me, they don't have the caliper cylinder press tool) . I was too afraid that I would lose a piece or two.

then I had worry about all the new seals , thanks the information provided by the forum members here.

this is just right color for me.

Dude, 19 weeks at the wheel shop now. Only reason I haven't picked them up, is because any other place that can brush wheels, charges double and then I have to pay shipping. But supposedly should be done before Christmas.

That's what makes me want to buy a set of used HRE's whenever they come up. That way I can "preserve" the Montreals. I did buy new trim rings from SB Wheels. They are great to deal with.

I feel your guys pain on the Montreal wheels. I got a set (for cheap) and one of the barrels is badly damaged. The spider is bent but I would imagine it could be repaired with some heat from a torch, a block of wood and a hammer. I ended up having to sell a kidney (not literally but felt like it) for a replacement wheel from the UK. I wasn’t totally thrilled with the wheel but, I have all 4 wheels completely refinished with new trim rings, new oem red center caps like they all had originally and 4 Michelin pilot super sports and I just love the wheels now.

April of last year I scored a complete set of front and rear R1 Brembo calipers for $605 delivered through eBay. They are in very good shape enough to where I don’t need to rebuild them. I had the SS brake hoses made and banjo bolts obtained. I did have to get the front caliper to knuckle (grade 8) bolts through Ace Hardware.

I’m currently in the process of dismantling front end parts I obtained and having them sent out for powder coating. I drilled and tapped one of the front knuckles to accept the caliper bolts. I’m sure you guys are having *fun* like I am. When we get our cars done with the wheels and brakes at least, I’m sure we’ll enjoy them for years to come.
