Default Traction control fail/stability control fail

Hi guys I need some help , I'm working on my 1998 Jaguar xjr , has an engine swap with a 2001 xjr engine, changed all the necessary components for swap . After finally getting it running I still have the following issues ,has codes p1637,p1720, and p1000
It will only drive in one gear , shifts from park-drive are really hard and abrupt, it displays traction control fail , stability control fail , and the abs light is illuminated.
I have checked all 4 wheel speed sensors with a multimeter using AC and got 5.xxx - 7.xxx with it set on 2 while spinning the wheels
And I'm geting 2.4 DC volts to the sensor harness. I am wondering if this is within spec and if so could it be the abs module at fault. I have seen other post saying to replace the abs module but I am wondering if there is a way to test it to verify if it's bad before doing so . Also if there is anything else that I can check to further diagnos the things wrong with my car. Thank you for reading this long post and I appreciate any help and ideas

Whenever doing a search on fault codes, especially P codes, be sure to put Jaguar in front of it. A P code is manufacturer specific. Rebuilding (soldering) the ABS is quite easy, do a search, you'll get plenty of threads for review and some with video.
The P1000 is a diagnostic system readiness not complete. Basically your other codes are causing this.
I am not a transmission guy, so the P1720 will have to have another member chime in. But at least get started checking out the ABS rebuild threads.

Hi Dhighlife27,

You can download the Jaguar-specific Diagnostic Trouble Code guides at the links below. I'm not certain which will apply to your car, but if you're using the 2001 Engine Control Module, the 2001 DTC Summaries guide will probably be the most applicable to engine issues, while the '97-99 guide will apply to the ABS/DSC system and most others:

Jaguar X308 Powertrain DTC Summaries 1997-1999

Jaguar X308 Powertrain DTC Summaries 2001

As Highhorse mentioned, the most common cause of P1637 is cold, starved or broken solder joints on the circuit board in the ABS/DSC module, which can nearly always be repaired if you have decent soldering skills or know someone who does. There are also professional services that repair the modules. See this post for some links that may be helpful:

Regarding the P1720 code, one possible cause is loss or corruption of wheel speed sensor signals, which could be consistent with problems with the ABS/DSC, so if you resolve those issues the P1720 may resolve also. You can see other possible causes of P1720 in the Transmission DTC Summaries guide at this link:

Cheers,

Don
