My car is a 99 XJ8 and has already had the trans rebuilt for the A-drum at 45k and now at 90k it's getting a new transmission. The guy rebuilding mine said that the 45k rebuild guy used a cheap after market filter that eventually failed and that led to the pump failing. While the car shifted fine after it warmed up he said when they opened it up the internals were just a mess. So lesson learned - if you're spending $2000 on a rebuild dont use a cheap filter. Geez.

 

Also, it seems like a good time to replace O2 sensors while youre in there!
