Question Transmission cable adjustment.

Finally managed to fix my transmission not going into park problem - White plastic slide in the J gate was broken so replaced with a decent second hand part.

The only issue now is that the cable appears to be out of adjustment as the transmission goes into reverse, neutral and drive early (it seems to slip out of drive as the lever will not go fully to the bottom of the J gate).

I believe the nuts on the gear cable are 22mm ? But which way should I adjust the cable ?

I suspect that I need to move the cable towards the back of the car but am not certain. Can anyone confirm.

Pics of lever position when in reverse, Neutral and drive.

The adjustment procedure can be found in the Workshop Manual downloads that are available in the Stickies on this forum. It is fairly straight forward. Good luck!

As has ben pointed out the proceedure is detailed in the JTIS
But here is a quick check.
Make sure the gearbox is positioned in neutral and disconnect at the slector end in the car.
Adjust the cabel until the holes line up and re engage.
Check that all movemebts are correct from Park back to Drive and the se;ector lines up with the indents.
