Transmission Problem?
Hello anyone here know of any shop in the south Florida area that can fix my 99 XJ8 transmission? I took to place in Miami and they repair the transmission but once I would hit the sport shift or I would downshift it would throw the transmission to fault and the car would stall and lose all it horse power.
I was able to get my money back after a month time but after taking it to the dealer they suggest for me to buy a new transmission. I think the problem is electrical because in the morning when the car is cold it runs perfect for about and hr then boom back to stall and no horse power. I need shop that knows what there doing I don’t want to spend and arm and leg when it might be something electrical. Any suggestions thanks for your replays

RE: Transmission Problem?
That fact that it doesn't act up until it is warm would indicate more that it is something mechanical versus electrical. The hour is allowing the fluid to heat up and then it causes a problem. Due you get any warning lights? When it acts up, does it start right back up? When you have lack of power, does it have power again when you cycle the ignition?
Are you in Miami? I am in So. FL, but not Miami....a little further North...about 40 miles.
