Transmission PRV Replacement
In the next week or two I am planning to replace the PRV in the valvebody to prevent A clutch drum failure.
I am about to order the filter and the valve this week and the ATF (
I am mostly curious if I will need more than 3 gallons of ATF and if so, how much more? Also, will the ATF in the link work? I though someone on here said they have been running it for a few years without any issue. The car has just over 118k on her.

) next week, the question is, when I do this job, how much ATF is typically required? Will 3 gallons be enough or should I get 4 to be safe? I am not flushing the trans, simply dropping the pan, taking out the valve body, replacing the PRV, and putting a new filter & gasket on. I'd imagine a lot of it would still be in the torque converter?
That's only 1.8 gallons.

Harvest is right. You will probably need about 7-8 qts. with the valve body out. The Castrol is what I and several others are using.
You can also use it to flush your power steering reservoir. Just use a baster to remove the fluid in the reservoir and replace with fresh. Do it every few days until it comes out clean.

I replaced the power steering fluid a few months back and had my shop do it using a special vacuum (replaced using Dexrox VI)
