Default trunk lights

Does anyone know how the trunk lights were originally secured? mine are both dangling and only come on when they take a notion to.

Each of the 2 trunk lights are secured by the plastic tangs (one on each side of the light).

JTIS manual says "Carefully release lamp tangs from trunk lid trim, position lamp for access, disconnect harness multiplug and remove lamp from trunk."

Here is the graphic showing the light unit with one of the tang that is viewable on the side of the unit:

The tangs hold the light (lamps) unit firmly in the trunk liner.

I broke one of the tangs recently and I put felcro tape around the light unit, then I released some of the liner fasteners. Then I was able to make the velcro tape grip the backside of the trunk liner and hold the light unit in place.

Here is a photo from Ebay listing:

Ebay has a listing for a pair of these used for $65.50.
