Hello;
This is a common problem with a very simple fix.
Make sure you get the same round replacement speaker that is in the column.
Remove the 2 screws that hold the bottom of the column casing together and remove the bottom casing.
There are 2 white plastic "pins" that hold the speaker into a slot in the column.
Remove those 2 pins and save them. You will be reusing them.
When you remove the 2 pins, the round speaker should slid down out of the "holder". Carefully clip the 2 wires that connect the speaker and discard the speaker.
Clean the 2 exposed ends of the wires and solder them to the new speaker. You must solder them because these wires flex alot with the column.
Slide the speaker back into the holder and put the 2 pins back in to hold it in place.
Put the bottom casing back on the column and screw it back in.
Voila, fixed speaker.
Be careful what you ask for. After I fixed mine, I don't remember it being as loud as it is now !!!!!!!!
