Default Two Questions About Trim.

Hello All, hope all is well. In my never ending habit of messing with things, I have found two more areas that I want to mess with on my car. I'll ask about them both now though to save using two threads.

1: How do I remove the standard Exhaust trims? I want to put nice new ones on, but after removing the allen screw they won't budge. Will a gentle knock from a Hammer and punch help, with a little WD-40?

2: How do I identify what colour code my carpet is? I want to get some taliored mats for my car, but am unsure what colour my carpets are, either Sable or Beige.

Thanks for your help in what is probably very simple to solve problems. S.

1. Plastic or rubber mallet should motivate it to move.

2. On the driver's door jam you find a manufacturer's sticker or plate that will give you trim code.

Thanks For the tip on removing the Exhaust trims, I'll try that in the morning. I'm going to put S-Type ones on, as I don't like the Oval trims, round will be better I think.
However, looking at my door Jams and pillars I can't see any sticker other than one telling me there are Airbags inside the car. Did they hide them anywhere else on these cars? Thanks, S.

It is not on the door jamb it is on the driver's door. If you are looking for the carpet color, it is not listed, just the overall interior color. If your car has the oatmeal interior code, I know that the carpets, steering wheel and fascias are normally a color called sable. If you call British Parts Place at 1-800-900-2496 or email at gramsey@engelimports.com and give them your VIN, they should be able to tell you the color of your carpets.

I managed to get an answer to my problem, and a good result too! As you suggested my carpet is Sable, and I found this out from a Jaguar dealer. He then gave me a set of mats for a silly cheap price, and a pair of new s type chrome trims for a similar silly price. He even had the fitters there put them on for me. Why did I get such a good deal? Because I gave him and his family a free day pass on my company's open top tour bus! Thanks for your help. S.
