Default Undercarriage Rust

I just purchased my first Jag (2003 XJR), and the only thing from the Lemon Squad inspection that concerns me is the amount of undercarriage rust. How much should I worry about this? What's the best course for keeping the car nice long term? (I'm somewhat new to working on cars myself, but eager to learn.)

welcome to the brotherhood here.

your undercarriage condition looks near identical to mine. I live in NY.

looks like to the me all is only surface rust.

I did (had some one to do it for me in fact) and full black spray for future prevention.

however rust issues around the wheel arches are common, go check

Agree, looks like minor surface rust. Might be worth finding a place that does underbody sprays like "Crown" in Canada, or do the equivalent yourself (I spray "Fluidfilm" every fall).
