Default Unlock steering column no key

purchased an XJR from an insurance company. use to belong to "xjrjag" on this forum. yes i'm certain, i found his custom coilovers thread on here and thats the car i purchased. if anybody knows him please tell me how i can get in contact with him!

Anyways I'm wondering if its possible to unlock steering column without a key? i bought it without one and its going to be at least a week before i can get a key and i need to move the car so my pops can take his car to work Wednesday, the jag is currently in the way since its the only place the tow driver could drop it. I got in in neutral with the button on the shifter but steering column is locked (((

An other one dearly missed on the forum.
You can left-click on his name in the below thread, then send him a private message.

we got in contact! sadly he sold it and the owners after did not take care of the car at all, i found old comdoms, panties, little baggies from who knows what in the car. Front autocouture lip is gone because they most likely destroyed it.

Well, seems you got big shoes to fill then, he was a regarded member here, as was the work on his car.
Good luck getting the old lady back.

It'll be painful...

You won't be able to use the car without keys as the keys have rfid chips for the imobilizer. But to remove the lock: Remove steering wheel, remove column covers and then using a drill, drill the little metal nose out of the lock which is depressed in this video:

(I knew my video would come in handy some day )
