How do you upgrade to a flip key fob. Do I have to get a different key made?

I think it won't work with a 99, the fob freq was changed somewhere around 00 and I believe the flippy fobs only transmit at the later frequency. The thread mentions it won't work with early model xk's, so I'd check on that before going ahead with that project.
