Upgraded supercharger upper pulleys/porting
#21
Just a quick question. I have been considering a 1.5 lb pulley which should yield 13.1 PSI and 13000 RPM max speed. Does this mean with no other mods due to heat increase and increased SC hp requirements the car would actually be making LESS peak power? They claim a 25 hp increase in the midrange which seems like more usable power around town at the cost of overall performance. Not sure if it is worth it.

The engine management is designed to retard ignition when hot. If you live somewhere warm and tend to kick its head in everywhere then prior planning like an upgraded intercooler pump and larger radiator will sort this out.
literally thousands of these engines have larger crank/smaller nose pulleys - I've ran both upper and lower together without overheating - it's down to ambient temps.
Regarding the added power, I would say you access it earlier, meaning the torque comes in earlier because the SC is spinning up quicker - you'll notice it from a standing start. You only start to get gains with intake mods and exhaust on the dyno.
