I hate to ask to have my hand held, but can you post a direct link to the parts? I'll be damned if I can find them on either site.

Edit: I believe I found it on Parts Geek. It said "EuroSpare" and that threw me off, but examining the pictures I can see the part says Meyle.

You have the right spot on Parts Geek.

Go to RockAuto Parts Catalog and work your way into their catalog:
JAGUAR 2001 XJ8 4.0L V8 Suspension Shock Mount

Appears their prices have come down: now about half the price of the Parts Geek units.

Both have stock.

The URO parts have a bad reputation --- many if not all of the rubber parts come from india and don't hold up. The failures are all over the MB forums -- for a wide variety of parts. MB owners tend to keep the cars for along time -- so the experiences is over 6 months.

It would be helpful for those who have installed the URO parts to report back.

I would pay the extra and get the Meyle part -- Meyle may mention "Germany" -- but they are also resellers ... it's most likely coming from China.

As I noted in other posts, I have the URO on the right side; Mehle on the left. The $76 Mehle looks to be better made than the $55 Uro. BOTH WORK SUPERBLY WELL!

The URO stuff is fine initially .. but ...people report of premature failure.

This thread is from a while ago -- and the OP did not mention who made the first replacement .. or the second.

Interesting comments about the aftermarket repair kits. I was thinking of going down this route even though I'd have to order from the US. The small saving when shipping is added dosen't seem to outweigh the hassle of fitting them and the apparent unreliability of the material used.
I just don't know why Jaguar felt the need to completely redesign this part, the poly foam used does fail over time but for my old X300 you could just buty the foam bushes and swap out quite cheaply, like the radiator mounting bushes which seem to have been replaced on the X308 with tougher rubber parts. I can only think they were preparing for the adaptive dampers fitted on later models...?

Neither the Uro nor the Meyle units are repair kits. These are brand new shock mounts (no hammer, no press); just remove the old and put on the new ones. Makes an incredible difference; like new ride and dead quiet compared to the overhaul kits . . .

My overhauled mounts were always quiet in the summer, but as soon as the temp dropped below 50*F, hammered their *** off.

Jhartz - I was refering to your insightful comments regarding the "overhaul" kits (from Welsh and the like). I can obtain the full replacement part here in the Uk for around £42 ($60...?) a side, but I'm not sure of the actual manufacturer. Mine are still intact but look tired and may need replacing in the next year.....

We offer both brands of these mounts, URO ($44.95) and Eurospare/Meyle ($65.25). We sell the URO 3 to 1 over the others because they're less expensive and haven't had any complaints.

regarding the shock mounts with the bushings already attached, all -in-ones (see pic above)...cant you just add the neoprene bushings to the existing mounts to stop the banging up and down noises?...or do you HAVE to buy the whole mount?
Many thanks!

Did that in the Spring of 13: neoprene hardened and hammered their asses off when they got cold. After two years, once they Uro and Mehle kits came along, switched. Uro kit works great and easy to install. Price is damn near the same as the repair kit. See #24 and #27.

Jim, can you explain what I need to do to replace the mounts? Is there a video, or is it just a matter of jacking the car up a little, remove and replace?
Mant thanks sir, I enjoy your knowledge!

Do a search on this forum: Old Mike (wonder whatever happened to him?) did a photo segment on the steps back in 13 or 14 (just don't bother with the BFH approach if you are buying the replacement Uro or Mehle parts). An easy job, left side is five minutes longer since you need to loosen the power steering reservoir to get at a couple of bolts. Be careful where you place the jack (to raise and lower the shock into the mount). A really easy job.

Faintly remember a YouTube video as well. Also a photo group from some guy in Central Florida who pointed out that the URO and Mehle units were available, instead of the ridiculously priced OEM from Jaaaaguar.
