URO parts shock mounts are garbage
I'm sure it's not a surprise to anyone on here but I came across a shabby example. I have used certain URO parts such as radiator hoses or an aluminum thermostat tower without issue. However after rebuilding the front suspension on my XJR I couldn't figure out what was rattling. Turns out the URO upper shock mounts were made of such a crappy material they collapsed and the top of the shock was rattling. I replaced them with an uprated part and no more rattle. Get what you pay for I guess.

Yes, we do get what we pay for. I replaced all the coolant hoses from the octopus forward with Uro's a couple of years ago. The first thing I noticed was that the quality of the hoses was not the same as the OEMs. I kind of expected that, but then all of the hoses except the three big ones that go to the crossover pipe were cut-to-fit. And the hose from the electric pump to the intercoolers leaked at the pump and the right intercooler. Not taking that lesson in mind, I just replaced the motor and trans mounts with Uro's. I've only driven the car for a week since those were installed; hopefully, I'm not posting about replacing them within a year.

I've had variable results with Üro Parts as well. A flexible coupling would not balance in any of the six mounting orientations. A genuine GKN balanced on the first try.
The sad fact is that if it weren't for Üro Parts, some parts for our cars would simply not be available new. So I keep giving them a chance when other options aren't available or are unjustifiably expensive.
Cheers,
Don
