Default Valve Cover Bolts

Does anyone know what the size of the valve cover bolts are? When I was taking off my valve covers some of the bolts broke. I did not finish removing them because I want to be prepared to fix the damaged ones when I take them off. This is my only vehicle, so when I remove the valve cover I won't have a way to get the items that I will need to repair them.

The cam cover bolts are NOT regular bolts. They are bolts with a 'spacer' and rubber grommet/isolator. The rubber rings are replaceable but the bolts are made with the spacer installed. Your local Jag dealer should have the one's you need.

The one's in the rear near the throttle are DIFFERENT in as much as they are a bolt that is separate from the spacer. It is a different metal and has something to do with the CMPS near it.

I wish you were located near me as I probably have a box full of good used somewhere in my shop.

In addition to the above, if the bolts broke, they might have been over-torqued when they were installed. Inspect the plastic valve cover carefully for compression damage. It might not seal properly even with a new gasket if it was deformed or cracked.

Wink Need Size PLEASE

Thank you for your replies, but what I really need is the size and thread count for the bolts. I want to have what I'll need to repair the threads on the head incase I am unable to remove the broken bolts without drilling them out. I know that I can get the bolts at the dealer or a salvage yard, but I'll have to pick up a thread repair kit just incase. I won't be able to go anywhere once I remove the cam covers. Yes I know that I can get the size after I pick up new bolts, but I just thought someone would know what size they are.

Yes thank you, and a bolt extractor works also, but sometimes you have to drill out the the bolt, tap the hole and install a threaded insert.
