Default Vanden Plas Pics

The much requested pics of the 2001 VDP are finally being posted.
Still much little things to do to get it where I want it, but all told not bad for a $2000 car.
I am not a professional photographer, so please go easy on the pics.....lol

Thanks Genius.
You talking about washers for headlamps? They pretty rare here. No need for them.

Oil cap came with new valve covers, which came with new heads, which came with new cams, chains, guides and tensioners which came from an undisclosed low mileage less than a year old motor. LOL

Got another one I am looking at now too. 99 cvtble.

Alas, the pics! Looks really good there FJT. I also see the pull spot on the hood where the leaper was grabbed. Not too obvious though.

REally cleans up nice...I bet it didn't look half as good when you were tearing it apart and putting it back together. lol

the old xk 's can age really fast.. here there interiors turn to ****.. but up down there they probably stay pretty clean

Man FJT I had to hunt this pics down! Car looks great! I'd love to pay 2k for that but I don't know what I'd do when I'd need work done! I love the pull down trays in the rear! What are the switches for on the rear of the passenger seat? I noticed the heated seats in the middle so I couldn't figure out what those buttons are for? Does it adjust the passenger seat?

What motor is the car interchangeable with as in other models?

BTW the wifey still loving the car or did you steal it back?

THe seat switch on rear of passenger seat will move passenger seat. Upper switch for recline and lower switch for fore and aft movement.
Wifey got it......loves it.

I don't get the other question about interchanging? I guess you could make it supercharged 4.0 with some work. They did make a Supercharged VDP. Was nice.

By that I mean how did you get the motor that is less than a year old in there? They still manufacture the same motor in all the xj's? You should slap a turbo up on that! Forget the supercharger! J/K I personally like the whine of a supercharger more!

Ok I guess I'll ask it this way...what other cars/years have the same motor? Or did you retrofit a similar but different motor...is that better?

Car looks terrific, especially for 2K. Your neighborhood looks like where I used to live in W. Boca.

It's no normal car buying experience for what he has there! I bet that car is worth what 14k??? You won't be able to find any other xj8 for near that!

Thanks everyone. This is one car I am proud of and my wife loves it.

Atom, the color is Topaz over Oatmeal with Antelope color piping.

Aquill - 2000-2003 XJ and 2000-2002 XK has same motor....we do replace them under warranty for a variety of reasons....lol

Skatsuf....we will talk about my neighbourhood next time we meet.
