Vanden Plas Supercharged/Super V8 Ownership Tracking

Hello all,
I'm currently looking to track all X308 super v8 or vanden plas supercharged owners. As I understand it, there are around 2,500 of these rare models, most of them being LWB, MY2003, and based in the UK. However, if you own one of these vehicles please comment below with your VIN, general location, and story of how you obtained the vehicle. I will be posting a similar thread in the UK jaguarforum.com site and have already posted in the facebook group (unfortunately no one replied).

The Super V8 was never an X308, it was an X350, and that was introduced in mid 2003 (X350) and built until 2007. The X100 and R1 were 308's and are the novelty of this time period, I believe the R1 is early '03 and when moved over to the 350 platform, became the Super V8?....other than that they are just commonly known as XJR and sub variants thereof. Like mine, its a 2000 VDP (a Daimler in Europe) with a special order R package, to include CATS. I carry none of the badging, nor did it come with the Brembo brake pkg. But I'm hoping to change that soon, I've got the rotors and calipers ...been too busy.

Hi Joseph (Raoh),
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums!
Why don't you lead by example. "Please comment below with your VIN, general location, and story of how you obtained the vehicle." You may get more interest in your thread if you post the details of your own Jaguar first, especially since this is your first post to the forum and your intentions are unclear.
Cheers,
Don

I'm pretty sure HM Elizabeth II had a X308 Super V8 LWB, sure I've seen a pic of her driving Philip around in it.

Then it was a Euro version, not an NA one? Never knew of it, but nice to know...
Correction noted, thanks Stojanovic

I'm not an authority but this is my understanding on the models offered in the USA. I have a 2002 X308 Super V8. In addition to the XJR, Jaguar offered the X308 model in the Vanden Plas trim with a supercharger. Basically an XJ8 Vanden Plas (long wheel base form and VDP interior) with the same engine/transmission as they put into the XJR. They badged it as "Vanden Plas Supercharged" from 1998-2001, and then changed it to "Super V8" for the 2002 and 2003 model years. They carried on the name Super V8 into the X350 models. The differences between the XJR and the VDP Supercharged/Super V8 models would include the wheel base length, the interior, the wheels and suspension/brakes.
From what I've found, the Super V8 was only provided with the Daimler model and later called the Super 8...and the only models for these I've been able to find, are in Europe and surrounding areas.

Well, it's been two weeks and no follow-up from the OP. We have to wonder the real reason he wanted our members to post the VINs and locations of their cars...

Seemingly unscrupulous intentions, plus that was their only post. As well, I'm sure I wasn't the only one to get a PM from them.

Leading by example did not seem to be desirable for the OP.
I am unsure how he expected others to supplicate.

I banned him for suspicious activity, so he won't be back. I'm going to close this thread so unsuspecting members don't post their VINs.
