Warning Messages: Bonnet Open/Hood Open; Parking Brake On
I was reading the Drivers Handbook when there are 2 messages I've never seen.
Bonnet Open/Hood Open. - Every time I've ever opened the hood ever it would never have this message.
Parking Brake On - I just get the brake but there is a picture illustrated.
Idk if its just me or other people have this problem

it is still on my list to make one, but it surely is not there, neither is the switch (although I think the bracket is there).
You got a picture of the light and switch?

I must admit, I also need to think twice not to mix up trunk, hood, bonnet and boot ... well, at least I am not a native ...
Btw, my BOOT OPEN message is always working, dont need to move for that one.
Anyway, I just yesterday downloaded a pic of a switch which is used for an after market alarm, but which fits perfectly in a hole in the engine bay (thats the thing under the bonnet, right ).
But cant find a suitable light fixture to finish it up yet.

The switch sits in a "Wet Zone" and as a consequence quickly deteriorates in the weather where the connector plugs in. I've never seen one that works truth be told. I'm sure there is a far more robust version of the switch out there somewhere if you really wanted it to work.
Stole your picture from an other thread, and see you indeed got the exact switch I saw before (in the front cross bar), but which I have never seen in any other x308 so far.
No intention to hijack this thread, but I am sure Omgimali is as interested as me, do you then have a picture as well of the actual lighting fixture?
Or is it working on the alarm only?

The X308 didn't come with an under bonnet light, although I think the X300 may have done as I vaguely recall seeing one on an X300 once I think .
It wouldn't be difficult to fit one if you really wanted to, but in today's world where very powerful and small LED torches exist with magnets on them, why would you bother?

Just as my food well lighting front and rear, and my chrome rings around the gauges ...
If only I could find something which should fit the x308 design, like it was OEM.

Footwell lighting could be easily achievable by simply mounting a single 5 watt wedge bulb, same as the side lights, just out of sight under the dash. This is what the X Type used and other cars I've seen. Another option would be to get hold of a boot lamp and fit that.
If you are looking for ambient lights, to be on all the time, there are sellers on eBay with LED strips that light up in a similar colour to the Instrument panel. My friend's 2016 XF ambient light is under the door grab bars and under the dashboard.
I have avoided chrome rings on the gauges because in my Triumph when sun hits the chrome it can dazzle you.

Seriously, the wiring is no problem, I just can't seem to find a lighting fixture which I can install on the inside of the bonnet, looks good and small, and shines downward towards the engine.
I actually had a LED strip there, but I removed it, cause the look bothered me every time I saw it.

I see you've already lit your foot wells, nice job. What did you tap into for that? It's something I wouldn't mind adding to work with the coursety lights.
The sun normally got me when it was behind me and the roof was down, probably why you haven't experienced it in hindsight. But I still wouldn't add them in my interior, l like the non chrome.
