Well, I Sold The VDP

I never drove it and neither did my wife. I tried to sell it on eBay and CL. No luck. I had lowball offers from dealers until we went to Ford. They gave me my bottom dollar selling price ACV. Bought a '15 Explorer XLT.
It was a decent run with the VDP. A nice car for sure, but did not fit my growing family's needs. This place is great with very helpful, knowledgeable members. Thanks to all.

Over the course of two years we accrued 4000 miles on the VDP. 90% of those miles my wife drove the car. If there was a cloud in the sky it stayed in the garage. If the ground was wet, stayed in the garage. I wouldn't drive it to work because of the inconsiderate folks who would fling open their doors into the vehicles next to them.

So yours was a garage queen, that is a silly shame. I've practically mudbogged in my VDP - it is great in the rain, good-enough in the snow, takes potholes with grace and is parallel parked in NYC 24/7 with plenty of door dings and bumper scars - who cares, it is a car with a $6k blue book value, no point in retaining its pristine, just enjoy the thing... The interior is nicer than anything second to a Bentley or Rolls...

The $6,000 KBB made me sad when trying to sell the car. After a few weeks of listing, I was discouraged and we set out to look at new SUVs. The Ford dealer asked me what the trade in needed to be to get the deal done. I couldn't believe they did it.
It really was a nicely appointed car, fit and finish. I was not a big fan of the interior controls, but they all worked, so I couldn't complain. One of the most comfortable cars I've ever been in. The rear seat leg room was awesome. I'll miss it for sure. I hope it gets a great owner. They let me keep the Jaguar license plate frames which will remain shop ornaments.![Big Grin](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
